**Shift**:7AM-3PM, 9:30AM-1:30PM

**JOB SUMMARY**:
The Laundry Washer will be involved in a variety of work duties related to the Laundry Service operation working under the supervision of the Housekeeping & Facilities IPAC Supervisor. Laundry washers are required to work in the laundry area and may occasionally be required to work in the Resident Home Areas.

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & SUCCESS CRITERIA**:

- Sorting personal clothing and rough linen
- Loading laundry washers; emptying dryers
- Labeling resident clothing
- Maintaining resident clothing list
- Cleaning lint trays in dryers
- Wiping down machines
- Keeping work area clean and organized.
- Other duties may be assigned as required.
- This position may be required to perform additional related job functions beyond this description. _

**QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS**:

- Excellent communication skills including the ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions in English
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
- Knowledgeable about the principles of laundry services.
- Previous satisfactory work experience in a laundry position preferably in long-term care.
- Good physical condition.
- Adaptable to work that involves performing repetitive duties.
- Have a general understanding of and a willingness to work in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Knowledgeable about fire procedures
- Knowledgeable about WHMIS (Workplace hazardous Material Information System)
- Understand and respect residents’ privacy and confidentiality
