**LAUNDRY ATTENDANT**

**SUMMARY**:under the supervision of the Housekeeping Manager, the Laundry Attendant responsibility is to store, inventory, and issue or distribute linen, examines laundered items to ensure cleanliness and serviceability before having them reissued for use.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Sort all linens and treat stains
- Load all laundry into washer and add specified cleaning agents
- Take wet, clean items and dry as directed
- Sort and fold or hang clean dried items
- Maintain inventory of all cleaning supplies and communicate needs to general manager
- Maintaining all laundry equipment and inform facilities manager as to any maintenance needs
- Perform additional laundry services when necessary Familiar with departmental procedures and policies and ensure standards are adhered to
- Be in proper uniform (clean uniform, nametag, proper shoes)
- Use cleaning products and materials correctly and with good care
- Be careful and correctly handle equipment and machines
- Report any defects and safety hazards and be familiar with WHIMIS
- Familiar with the Fire Safety Plan and know your responsibilities in case of a fire/alarm
- Follow special cleaning instructions and directions from the executive housekeeper
- Assist with training and developing other staff when asked
- Be efficient, effective and responsive with inquires and requests using good communication
- Be familiar with hotel services offered
- Attend any training sessions or meetings (when asked)
- Ensure floor, corridors, housekeeping storage areas are clean, maintained and organized
- Accomplish or assist with “Special Projects” or other cleaning tasks as required
- Other duties may be assigned by management

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Must be able to lift 20 pounds on a consistent basis
- Experience required
- Flexible schedule and reliable
- Must be a fast pace worker and work well with others
- Multi-tasking skills
- Familiar with WHMIS, Health and Safety, and emergency protocols
- Physical mobility and stamina is required
- Ability to follow instructions and be detail-oriented
- Professional and friendly with all guests. Ability to achieve guest satisfaction
- Prior experience in housekeeping, cleaning, laundry or related jobs an asset
