Miller Maintenance proudly provides maintenance services on Maintenance Contracts for the Ontario Ministry of Transportation throughout the province of Ontario. Our leadership in the Ontario road and highway maintenance industry is based on our commitment to continuous improvement through education, innovation, safety, and training.

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- DZ license with a clean driver’s abstract
- Ability to operate a variety of equipment
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Willingness to remain on call occasionally and work assigned day, night and weekend shifts
- Comfortable working and driving in extreme weather conditions

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Experience in road maintenance, snow and ice control along with knowledge of OTM book 7
- Knowledge of highway maintenance
- Mechanical knowledge and experience with general equipment maintenance

**Day in the Life**:
As a Highway Maintenance Operator, you will begin to know the highway like the back of your hand as you perform summer and winter road maintenance on provincial highways, responding to emergency situations such as spills, accidents, inclement weather, and assist in implementing an emergency plan. You will also investigate and respond to inquiries, liaise with the Patrol Supervisor and The MTO to resolve concerns, always ensuring the safety of the travelling public.

When you are not patrolling the highways, you will be conducting daily circle checks on vehicles, cleaning, and performing equipment maintenance and operating heavy equipment, including winter combo units, spreaders, and loaders as required. Safety will be your number one priority, especially when providing traffic control at accident scenes and making snow and ice control decisions such as initiating equipment and operator call outs. It will also be important to stay organized when completing daily timesheets, logbooks, and hours of service.

You will be an essential member of the maintenance team and first point of contact in some situations. If you have a safety focused mindset and love to be on the road, this is the ideal role for you.
