**Job Summary**

We are looking for Grande Prairie Based person with a strong, team orientated individual to fill the position of HSE Field Coordinator Role. Specific skills you will need to be successful in this role are self motivated, organizational skills, patience, a sharp memory, an easy-going personality, eye for details, optimal verbal and written communication skills, non confrontational personality, and a professional phone etiquette. Familiarity of city and oilfield hauling roads in the Grande Prairie area is a necessity.

**Preferred Education and Experience**
- Active NCSO certification or OHS Cert/Diploma
- Minimum 5 years industry field safety experience
- CSO, First Aid, H2S, Ground Disturbance Level 2
- Leadership for Safety Excellence (ACSA)
- ACSA Auditor Status
- Experience with pipeline and oil and gas construction
- Possess a valid class 5 operators license with clean drivers abstract

**General Responsibilities**
- Maintain, improve, and communicate the Purnell Safety Program to all employees and ensure it meets OH&S legislative requirements, industry standards and client requirements.
- Assist management to mentor supervisors and workers with compliance with their safety responsibilities
- Serve as a resource and provide safety information, updates, and direction to all employees/contractors on Purnell or Regulation changes
- Identify and assess workplace hazards that employees are exposed to and assist management with effective controls.
- Ensure that all employees understand the company policies, procedures, rules, practices, and legislation as it applies to them.
- Identify training requirements for the company and conduct training or arrange for delivery of training.
- Assist Supervisors in company safety meetings and participate in worksite and client safety meetings/discussions.
- Participate in the Joint Health and Safety Committee objectives.
- Monitor safety practices by conducting safety inspections and enforcing the company policies, procedures, rules, and legislation.
- Participate in Investigation of all incidents or accidents, assist in recommendations to prevent reoccurrence and communicate this information to all relevant parties.
- Monitor any WCB claims and identify any modified duties that can be performed.
- Compile site safety documentation and ensure that health and safety statistics are completed, maintained, and compared.
- Act as a resource to clients, customers, suppliers, industry, and government.
- Conduct and/or participate in the annual company health and safety audits.
- Complete weekly site inspections and communicate results/actions items to the Safety Manager and onsite Supervisors
- Assist with the mentoring program for Green Workers and be an aid for those personnel coming into the industry

**Additional Requirements**
- Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (word, excel, PowerPoint).
- Clear and precise verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to handle shifting and conflicting priorities and multiple deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Have excellent organizational skills. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Be a solution-oriented individual who can work both independently with mínimal supervision, within a team environment.
- Ability to demonstrate a personal commitment and positive attitude to the safety team.
- Able to deal with hard situations in a non-conflicting manner
- Comfortable with high stress environments
- Ability to drive in all seasons and conditions

This is a full-time position; Monday to Friday 6am-3pm or 7am-4pm with after hour responsibilities to attend safety meetings. A company vehicle, cell phone and competitive wages are offered with this position, as well as company benefits and a positive work environment.

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

- Grande Prairie, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)
