**The Opportunity**:
The mission of the Warehouse Assistant is to assist and ensure all outbound shipments are completed in a timely, cost-effective manner. Working from our Kelowna facility, you will be an integral part of a warehouse team that is responsible for the fulfillment of our highly anticipated Lomi in-home composter going directly to customers and business partners. Our warehouse is located at 2821 Fenwick Road in Kelowna.
In this position, you will be proficient in shipping, order packing, and warehousing practices while being a self-starter who thrives in an environment of continuous improvement and problem-solving. Teamwork and adaptability will be critical to your success. Working in a fast-paced environment and delivering on promises nurtures your soul. The hours of work will be Monday-Friday 8:00 am-4:30 pm.
**The Responsibilities**:
- Pick, process, and ship orders accurately, quickly according to Pela's standards
- Assemble product packaging, prepare orders & labels for shipping
- Receive incoming supplies and supplies
- Sort and organize stock in the warehouse
- Organize and prep daily shipments with each carrier
- Maintain warehouse including putting away stock, sweeping, organizing supplies, and garbage disposal
- Assist in monthly inventory counts on finished goods and packing materials
- Maintain a safe and clean workspace
- Assist others as necessary
- Ensure safe operation of all equipment, follow all protocols for warehouse safety
**Qualifications & Skills**:
- Must have experience driving forklifts and loading trailers
- Ability to learn procedures and add efficiency to processes
- Works well independently, a self-starter
- Knowledge of Google Suite and ShipStation preferred
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing dynamics
- Committed to quality, safety, and communication
- Strong attention to detail and pride of workmanship
- A team player who wants to participate in green business practices and promote a sustainable future
- Ability to frequently lift 40 lbs and stand for an 8 -hour shift.
$20 per hour with required experience
