**SUMMARY OF ROLE**

Reporting to the President, the **Corporate Environmental Health & Safety** Manager is responsible for implementing, monitoring and enforcing the Company Health & Safety policies and programs, ensuring safe working procedures on company work sites and facilities.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provides counsel and advice to Company management on all H&S related matters
- Develops and promotes a healthy and safe work environment by overseeing all aspects of Health and Safety for all Montgomery Industrial Services Limited, Corporate, Branch and Project locations
- Partners with all levels of management to set performance expectations and safety goals for entire company as well as branch and project specific performance metrics
- Develops programs/process to ensure compliance with federal, provincial, industry & client regulations with Montgomery Industrial Services Limited policies, procedures, and practices by working with management to train, implement and institutionalize changes and continue to build safety program essentials
- Provides Health and Safety training and operational audits. Drive root cause preventative action closure of audit findings within required deadlines.
- Analyses incident and injury trends to identify training deficiencies, behavioral issues, or other opportunities for operations and work flow improvements.
- Acts as a Company liaison with various governmental agencies as required and when appropriate
- Ensures management remains aware of any potential EH&S related issues that may negatively impact the business
- Develops and manages awareness programs to increase employee involvement along with influencing cultural and personnel adaptation to Health and Safety Programs
- Provides Leadership in effectively communicating and influencing employees and managers to maximize overall performance in meeting Montgomery Industrial Services Limited safety goals and objectives
- Develops a specific H&S new hire orientation program that must be taken by each new H&S professional to demonstrate competency in Montgomery Industrial Services Limited Ltd. H&S programs, policies, and procedures — refreshers for rehires.
- Provides timely Health and Safety progress reporting and assure all Health and Safety measurement systems are implemented and reported appropriately
- Maintains strong working relationships with W.S.I.B., M.O.L. & other industry safety associations
- Provides any and all safety reports, statistics and corrective actions undertaken to senior management as required
- Ensures responsibilities and accountabilities are carried out in a safe manner in accordance with Montgomery Industrial Services Limited safety policy/procedures, ISO 18001 standards and OHSA requirements.
- Ensures that environmental aspects within his/her sphere of responsibility are adhered to pursuant to ISO 14001 requirements.

**EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES**
- _Bachelor of Arts or Science in Occupational Health and Safety, or related technical discipline
- _Professional certification (i.e., Canadian Registered Safety Professional - CRSP, or Certified Safety Profession - CSP)
- _10+ years of experience and a proven track record of successfully leading Health and Safety programs and compliances in a multiple location and construction project environment.
- _Demonstrated H&S Experience in the Construction Industry at a Senior Management level
- _Excellent communication skills —written, oral and presentation
- _Strong interpersonal skills/customer skills and the ability to lead and influence teams, drive change and interact cross-functionally
- _Excellent organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize and drive multiple programs
