We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a HR Generalist in London, Ontario within our Human Resources** **team to help support our automotive** **business. Did you know we are the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of seating support and comfort systems for transportation manufacturers, as well as tier one and two suppliers within the automotive industry? That’s right In fact, in 2019, we were named as one of GM’s “Supplier of the Year” recipients. Our automotive products fall into four primary groups: Seating and Lumbar support, Wireless Charging, Motors and Actuators, and Mechanical Cables. If you join our team, your work will ensure people across the world have a little more comfort in their lives.
As a HR Generalist you will have the opportunity to support our automotive department. Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by implementing and executing employment activities. The team you will be working with is close-knit, fun, and values working together and pitching in to support the company goals.
**So, what will you be doing as a HR Generalist?**
- Provide support in assessment of the organization, making sure staff is set-up to be efficient and effective
- Promote, implement, and communicate activities regarding policies and standards supporting health and safety issues
- Manage payroll and data entry
- Manage reports related to payroll, employment analysis, and others as requested
- Lead and own employee relationships such as handling labor issues and grievances
- Follow labor and law regulation changes, updating processes to align
- Advise business line manager to facilitate achievement of established business objectives
- Recruit, develop, and retain high performing and talented workforce
- Identify training and development needs through performance management system outcomes
**To be successful in this role, you’ll need**:
- University degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field
- 1-3 years prior work experience
- Analytical mind and goal oriented
- Solid knowledge of labor legislation
- Strong administrative skills and high attention to detail
- Ability to build long-term relationships
- Effective communication skills - written and verbal
**Things we consider a plus**
- Experience in a Union environment
