The Release of Information Clerk manages all requests for release of information in the Health Records department. This consists of receiving requests confirming or facilitating completion of consent forms, logging the requests in the Meditech Correspondence Module and fulfilling the request.

The position contains a significant component of staying up to date with the Privacy Legislation and assisting North Simcoe Hospital Alliance in staff education.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

**Requirements**:

- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Customer service experience
- Familiarity with personal health information and privacy act
- Computer operations
- data entry experience
- Office experience in a health care setting
- Proven experience within a hospital related setting
- Two years’ experience in a similar capacity
- Previous experience in registration
- Previous experience with Microsoft office required
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Physically and emotionally capable of performing position responsibilities
- Able to prioritize and function effectively in a busy environment
- Excellent communication skills to relate to a variety of different personalities
- Facilitation skills and work effectively as a team member
- Ability to organize own time and perform duties under mínimal supervision
- Demonstrates good problem solving skills

**Assets**:

- Bilingual - English and French
- Graduate of the Health Information Services or medical office administration program
- Computer operations - Meditech

**Hours of Work**: Temporary Part Time, scheduled up to 24 hours a week. Must be available to work shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per the CUPE collective agreement.

**Salary**:$21.73 - $24.07 an hour
