**Administrative Position for Home Team Medical Services**
HomeTeam Medical Services provides unique primary home-based interdisciplinary health care, for a frail elderly population in the Greater Victoria area. We are on the cutting edge of innovative home-based care for seniors that is evidence-based, with an integrated team of doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and rehabilitation assistants. We are responsive, and pride ourselves on providing the best possible care for our patients and support for their family caregivers, as well as other community and hospital workers. Our goals are to improve seniors’ quality of life, maximize function, prevent transfers to hospital or moves to nursing homes and reduce caregiver stress.

- Communication
- excellence in and respectful verbal and written communication skills with clients, caregivers and health care professionals.
- Computer skills
- with electronic medical records (Oscar EMR), MS Office 365, MS Teams, MS Excel, Adobe.
- Organizational and client service skills, to administratively support our community geriatric team.
- Knowledge of, and adherence to, medical privacy standards.
- Knowledge of community services for seniors.
- Experience as an MOA.
- Experience with community-based care an asset.
**Tasks**
As a medical office administrator, you would be responsible for:
- Scheduling and confirming appointments with patients.
- Processing orders from team members including requests for labs, imaging and referrals.
- Liaising with patients, caregivers, our health care team, community agencies, congregate facilities, medical specialists and other health care providers to ensure that there is seamless communication and coordinated care.
- Processing faxes and correspondence from pharmacies, community care, specialists and hospitals.
- Handling any correspondence between medical professionals in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintaining administrative portions of confidential electronic medical records and running regular administrative reports.
- Adhering strictly to privacy and confidentiality policies.
- Ordering supplies and maintaining inventory.
- Following established office procedures, routines, and assisting with the development of new policies and procedures with the team.
- Attending and taking minutes of team meetings.
This is a remote, work-from-home position. T**his is currently a part-time position, with potential to expand to full-time in the near future.**
Materials and equipment are provided, with subsidy to upgrade home wifi.
We require someone who is conscientious and highly organized with exceptional attention to detail. Strong written and verbal English skills are essential. As we run a virtual office, strong computer skills are a must, including high proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite of software, in particular Excel, Outlook, and MS Teams. Proficiency with Oscar EMR is a significant asset.
While this position is work-from-home,** applicants must be located in the Greater Victoria Area. In-person attendance at staff meetings up to once per week will be required**.
Generous salary is commensurate with current industry rates and experience. The position includes Doctors of BC benefits for employees working greater than a 0.6 FTE, 4 weeks of paid vacation (3 weeks for the first year of employment), as well as paid sick days.
Must be eligible for work in British Columbia, Canada. Background check will be required.
Start date is February/March 2025.
