Under the direction of the Client Services Manager, the Housing Support Worker is responsible for various aspects of tenant relations and remains a valuable component in executing a successful supportive housing model. The primary responsibility of the Housing Support Worker is to enable services excellence for current, past and future tenants of Tawaak Housing Association.

**As a Housing Support Worker, you’ll get to**:

- Help to build and foster positive relationships between tenants and applicants with Tawaak Housing Association
- Preserve a high degree of professionalism in tenant relations, particularly with regard to confidentiality
- Ensures all consent disclosures are gathered and documented where required on behalf of client confidence
- Provide outreach support, navigation, and source wrap around service to tenants of Tawaak Housing Association
- Coordinate access for tenants to social, occupation, spiritual, financial, residential, and supportive programs.
- Provide household management resource and assist with problem solving to develop strong tenancy skills.
- Collaborates with Client Services Manager on minimizing barrier to access for tenant related resources
- Creating both formal and informal action plans for tenants in assistance to pest management, waste management, hoarding and social issues, which are reported and approved by the Client Services Manager
- Attach and save all relevant documents and actions plans in both electronic and physical tenant file
- Supports tenant through mediating positions and ensures due diligence towards eviction prevention is met
- Acts on eviction prevention processes as assigned by Client Services Manager
- Supports tenants in tenancy hearings inclusive to eviction prevention as required
- Assist Client Services Management where needed with moving supports for tenants, both tenant and external vendor coordination
- Assist applicants and tenants in finding suitable place to live, in and out of Tawaak Housing and accessing required community supports to access housing
- Follow up on a scheduled basis with tenants who are currently under an action plan, ensure they are meeting required deadlines and making progress
- Assists with client income record management
- Assist participants in eviction prevention measures and accessing required community support to maintain housing
- Report any onsite maintenance, structural, safety concerns to appropriate operating division and Client Services Manager
- Upholds incident reporting as required in adherence to compliance reporting
- Respond and access the need of tenants who have self-identified or been determined to need additional support and services to ensure their safety, safety of other tenants, and to secure quality of life
- Connect tenants with community organizations, resources, and programs facilitating meeting times when applicable
- Maintain positive working relationship with external agencies and other resources within the community
- Provide and share relevant programs with tenants
- Document all interactions and conversations with tenants and applicants in all required data information systems
- Understand the Residential Tenancies Act, roles and responsibilities of all parties and interpret for tenants
- Understands Tawaak property management documentation, roles and responsibilities of all parties and interprets for tenants
- Understand the Child, Youth and Family Services Act and roles and responsibilities of all parties and interpret for tenant
- Upholding routine reporting dates as assigned by Client Services Manager, including but not limited to homelessness individuals and families
- Participate in Coordinated Access Systems, Case Conferencing Tables, or similar case conferencing opportunities to ensure community collaboration and best participant outcomes
- Participate in meetings, training sessions, information sessions about the housing support programs and other associated programming and policies
- Assist in development when requested by Client Services Manager as outreach for prospective and current tenants, relevant organizations, and landlords
- Completes allocation preparation and presenting applicant package to Client Services Manager
- Upholds file management organization and maintains adequate record keeping both physically and electronically
- Completes prospect process both manually and electronically supportive to file management compliance and reporting standards
- Attending viewings, lease signings and inspections as scheduled by Client Services Manager
