Responsible ensuring grounds and equipment are well maintained and safe for volunteers, visitors and staff. Routinely assists with all aspects of maintenance and Museum operations particularly under tight deadlines. Key Responsibilities: - Maintains landscaping, lawns, walkways, fences, and parking areas year-round. - Plants and maintains crops. - Performs minor repairs and undertakes small projects to maintain building interiors and exteriors. - Undertakes small construction projects as required. - Conducts regular equipment inspections and preventative maintenance (e.g., fluid checks, lubrication). - Ensures tools and machinery (e.g., snowblower, tractors) are well-maintained and operational. - Assists with restoration and care of artifacts under guidance from curatorial staff. - Helps maintain storage areas, outdoor sheds, and artifact inventory. - Sets up and dismantles furniture and equipment for public programs, room rentals and events. - Coordinates service requests for kitchen systems like ovens, grease traps, and coolers. Qualifications: - Grade 12 or equivalent as well as some pertinent experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Prior facility maintenance experience is an asset. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. - Willing to obtain and maintain required certifications such as Forklift training, Scissor Lift, Articulating Boom Lift and Fall Arrest, etc as required. - Class 5 driver’s license - Knowledge of Office 365 software (Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
