Service Helper

The Granite Club is looking for seasonal Service Helpers who will create a positive dining experience by ensuring that the Restaurant’s mis-en-place is adequately stocked and all tables set appropriately before, during and after service, under the direction of the Restaurant Management team. Service Helpers are required to act as ambassadors and representatives of the Club as a whole as Member perceptions of the Club in general are influenced by the front-line staff they encounter. The position also entails the maintenance and enhancement of the Granite Gold level of service necessary to properly represent the Granite Club.

Primary Responsibilities
- Open and close assigned service stations in the Granite Dining Room and Bistro.
- Ensure the Granite Dining Room and Bistro tables are properly set up for service.
- Stock the Granite Dining Room with linen.
- Polish cutlery and glassware.
- Fold napkins and create set ups for the Granite Dining Room and Bistro.
- Organize dirty glassware, plates and cutlery in the service stations.
- Clear, clean and reset tables ensuring chairs, banquettes and floor are tidy.
- Pushing and pulling service wagons filled with dirty cutlery, plates and glassware.
- Clean all highchairs and booster seats after use.
- Dispose of dirty linen to the laundry room.
- Actively demonstrate teamwork, sincerity, helpfulness and courtesy.
- Report all equipment and maintenance issues to a Restaurant Manager.
- Follow all fire and emergency procedures.
- Knowledgeable about the employee handbook and follow all the policies.
- Other duties as assigned or required.

Duties Specific to Snack Shop
- Brew Coffee and clean and fill condiments, salt and peppers etc.
- Clear and clean all tables ensuring chairs, banquettes and floor is tidy.
- Monitor food and beverages in the display case and replenish when necessary.
- Take direction from cashiers and assist them when necessary.
- Assist dishwashers when necessary.
- Check President’s Lounge regularly for dirty items. Fold newspapers and place in rack.

Required Qualifications
- Minimum Grade 12 education and 1 year related work experience.
- Good working knowledge of English (Written and Verbal)
- Emotionally Mature, Respectful and Sincere.
- Excellent Communication and Social Skills.
- Well Groomed and Courteous.
- High attention to detail.
- Strong organization skills and able to prioritize and take direction.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure while working in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
- Understanding all policies, procedures, standards, guidelines and specifications.
- Required to work weekends, weekdays and/or holidays, AM and PM.
