Summerhill Market is looking for a **Kitchen Helper** to join the Commissary team at our **Railside** location.

**Must have have open availability to work weekends**

**This is a full time position**

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Follow recipes and portion controls to ensure consistency and excellence in every dish.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely and efficient service during peak hours.
- Assist with inventory management and ordering of ingredients as needed.
- Stay current with culinary trends and techniques to contribute fresh ideas to the menu.
- Being a team player and helping your team members
- Adhering to all company policies, procedures and practices including signing, pricing, and loss prevention
- Additional duties as required

**Skillset Requirements**:

- Passion for food - you are a true foodie at heart
- Being an effective and positive communicator - having great listening skills patience and knowing how to de-escalate challenging situations
- Previous food industry experience along with a Food Safety Handlers Certification is an asset
- Quality driven with strong attention to detail
- Collaborative with the ability to work in a dynamic team to create solutions in support of store operations
- Able to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 pounds or less
- Flexible availability to work morning, evening, and weekend shifts with the ability to accommodate various shift coverage on short notice
- Comfortable working in a cooler environment, entering coolers/freezers as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
