North Vancouver, Canada Milestonemanor Supports Full time

An exciting opportunity is waiting for the right person. We are looking for a community support worker for a young autistic man in North Vancouver.

This young man is an intelligent, fun young man who is looking for someone to be a friend/peer and to support him in the community and eventually with employment. He likes working on cars and machinery, trains, construction machines, trucks, music, animated movies, and enjoys going out for meals. He has a good sense of humour and likes being out and around people. He also enjoys swimming, boating, pitch & putt going to watching baseball and other sports.

**Duties and responsibilities**

The support role will be responsible for helping him access and engage in activities he enjoys and hanging out with him as a peer/friend; this could included, but not limited to, swimming, tubing, play land; watching movies, doing puzzles just to name a few.

The peer support person we are looking for is committed to building relationships and can help another person to make their own decisions, and act as a peer, guide, and mentor to that person. They are collaborative and communicative, and able to promote learning and growth in others. They are fun, physically fit, friendly, and patient, and like being around other people. They can see people for who they are, not what they want them to be.
