**Job Overview**:
The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and effective internal controls. This role plays a key part in supporting strategic business decisions by providing financial insights and leading budgeting and forecasting activities. The Finance Manager also manages payroll processing and office administrative functions to ensure smooth business operations.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and publish timely and accurate financial statements (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual), including variance analyses and reconciliations, and provide recommendations for corrective actions.
- Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Ensure compliance with tax filings and government reporting requirements.
- Oversee all accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, cost and inventory accounting, revenue recognition, treasury management, and full-cycle payroll processing (including timesheet review, payroll calculations, government remittances, and year-end T4s).
- Recruit, train, and evaluate accounting staff performance, setting clear goals and expectations.
- Analyze financial performance against budgets and prior periods, identifying risks and opportunities to support business decisions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support annual budgeting, financial forecasting, and business planning.
- Develop, document, and enforce accounting policies and procedures to strengthen internal controls.
- Streamline and enhance financial and administrative processes to drive efficiency and maintain regulatory compliance.
- Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and adherence to company policies.
- Conduct internal audits and support external audit processes by preparing necessary documentation and addressing audit requests.
- Research and resolve accounting issues to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Provide financial support for key meetings, including monthly reviews, annual planning, and business strategy sessions.
- Oversee general office operations, including vendor coordination, supply procurement, and administrative support to ensure smooth daily business functions.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Solid understanding of full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to communicate in **Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese) is an asset.**:

- Hands-on experience with payroll processing and relevant statutory remittances is an asset
- Experience in inventory and cost accounting is an asset.
