**Fort Steele Heritage Town** is a living history site dedicated to the preservation, interpretation, and enhancement of British Columbia’s rich heritage. **Position Summary**

The Operations Supervisor is an important leadership role responsible for coordinating the efficient daily operations, financial oversight, and exceptional visitor experience at Fort Steele Heritage Town. This position demands an effective and collaborative leader with a hands-on approach to operational and financial management, with a particular focus on optimizing revenue streams, effective team leadership, and ensuring financial accountability. The Operations Supervisor is accountable to the Chief Operations Officer for coordinating the site reporting and administering policy to ensure optimal operations and goals are met in line with CAMAL’s strategic direction.

**Position Duties and Responsibilities**
- Contribute to and supervise the annual site budget in collaboration with the COO, identifying opportunities for revenue growth and cost optimization.
- Implement strategies to maximize revenue generation through admissions, events, retail operations (including the Windsor Hotel, Visitor Centre, Kershaw’s General Store, Vendor contracts), and other site amenities.
- Assist with accounts payable, receivable, and payroll processes, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping and reporting.
- Analyze financial performance, visitor data, and market trends for reporting to Executive Management Team. Collect and consolidate department reporting.
- Monitor retail and hospitality service performance, including the Windsor Hotel, Visitor Centre, and Kershaw's General Store.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop the Fort Steele team, fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture aligned with CAMAL’s mission and values.
- Recruit, train, evaluate, and schedule staff for on-site amenities, ensuring effective front of house operations.
- Implement and enforce workplace health and safety policies across the Site, ensuring a safe and secure environment for staff and visitors.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of Fort Steele Heritage Town, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all visitors, and ensuring operational compliance with municipal, provincial, and federal regulations.
- Work closely with the Programs and events teams to ensure a seamless and engaging visitor experience.
- Support rental program staff in scheduling, contracts, and client communications.
- Handle visitor feedback and resolve operational issues promptly and professionally.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, organizations, and community groups to support organizational goals.
- Represent Fort Steele at public events and stakeholder meetings as required.
- Coordinate routine maintenance and liaise with CHO and Facilities Maintenance Manager for major repairs and capital projects.

**Knowledge and Experience**
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Tourism Management, Heritage Management) OR a combination of education and experience in economic development, business, tourism, hospitality, or related field.
- Minimum five (5) years of progressive work experience in a management role, preferably in a non-profit or tourism destination management environment.
- Proven experience in financial administration, working to a budget, and revenue generation strategies.
- Knowledge of gift shop merchandizing and retail, including point of sale systems.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing diverse teams, with a focus on employee development and performance management.
- An understanding of Indigenous relations in this region; additionally, familiarity with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the relevant Calls to Action for Museums is an asset. This knowledge can be through education, lived or worked experience.
- Valid driver’s license

**Abilities and Skills**
- Excellent communication skills, both written an
