Convergint is currently recruiting for a Low Voltage Technician to join our growing team in our Edmonton location. As the Low Voltage Technician you will be responsible for reading and interpreting drawings, to determine wiring layouts for new or existing installations that are typically less complex. Scope of work includes pulling wire through conduits and through holes in walls and floors.

**What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience”**
- Installing ethernet or insulated cables in open ceilings, or through conduit to provide communication and low voltage power requirements for Security, AV and BAS systems
- Repair or replace wiring and equipment using hand tools and power tools.
- Use a variety of tools and equipment such as measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment.
- Executes all installations under direct supervision adhering to company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Uses basic troubleshooting skills to isolate and fix wiring problems.
- Perform physically demanding tasks such as moving and lifting heavy objects.
- Proactively seeks technical guidance from more experienced staff as needed.
- Keeps up to date and informed on all company policies.
- Executes all work in accordance with Provincial, local regulations, general best practices as well as company health and safety policies and procedures.
- Presents a professional image of Convergint Technologies at all times in appearance and behaviour.
- Acts as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times thereby ensuring Convergint Technologies is the customer’s first choice for service.
- Communicates with and works with the other team members consistently to improve overall operations of the Convergint Technology Center, and company.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

**What You’ll Need**
- Developing technical skills and experience related to communication and or audio visual systems we offer our clients.
- Basic mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper)
- Must be a self-starter and work well with direct supervision.
- Must arrive at work on time and ready to work based on the needs of the business.
- Travel to jobsites is required. There may be occasional overnight travel. Valid driver’s license required.
- Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Basic organizational skills and the ability to keep tools and work area tidy.
- Basic computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft Outlook.
- Must have the appropriate tools for the job based on the Convergint tool list requirements.

**Requirements**:

- One to three year of previous construction experience preferred.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
