**POSITION OVERVIEW**

Accountable for developing present and future direction for the Corporation by identifying and defining opportunities and threats in SaskTel's business environment and leading the creation and adoption of appropriate strategies and tactics to ensure SaskTel's position of market leadership. Leads strategic marketing planning and the development and Communication of strategic marketing plans.

**LEADERSHIP ACCOUNTABILITIES**
**People**
- Leads, directs and manages staff to ensure the effective use of HR resources. Maximizes performance by selecting (hire external or promote from within), developing, mentoring and sustaining a high level of expertise among staff. Organize and direct work including prioritizing assignments, establishing objectives, providing regular performance feedback, conducting year end performance appraisals and taking necessary corrective action as may be required. Assists in staff career planning, establishes development and succession plans and ensures relevant HR procedures and policies are followed (provisions of the collective agreement, performance appraisals, discipline, grievance, etc). Accountable for provisioning and managing contracted resources as may be required.
- 2. Accountable for promoting a productive and positive environment for staff that encourages innovation, teamwork, initiative and models corporate values. Motivates staff by assigning challenging work, planning and managing internal communications and awareness of corporate direction, mission, plans and activities.
- 3. Ensures all safety, health, environmental and code of conduct policies, programs and standards are understood and complied with at all times.
- 4. Proactively identify and action opportunities to increase customer satisfaction (internal and external customers).

**Financial**
- Ensure sound financial control within area of responsibility by developing annual operating and capital budgets, monitoring performance to budget and taking action as appropriate. Develops, negotiates and implements contracts for acquisition of goods & services related to area of responsibility.

**Innovation**
- Accountable to research, develop, define and implement innovative long and short term plans, policies and objectives. Provides expertise to senior management providing education, studies and consulting on opportunities that will impact business strategy. Ensures alignment and integration with the corporate strategic plan and develops plan and operational metrics, including approaches for demonstrating business value.
- Accountable to proactively identify and action opportunities to improve revenue and growth initiatives, decrease costs, increase customer service levels and increase employee engagement.
- Accountable to develop opportunities to spark innovation in technology or product service delivery or process improvements.

**SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Accountable for developing long term marketing strategies that position the company to achieve SaskTel's long term goals for revenue, customer experience and profitability.
- Lead cross-departmental strategic marketing planning. Develop and communicate the Strategic Marketing Plan.
- Facilitate discussions and collaboration across SaskTel to ensure understanding and support of the Strategic Marketing Plan and other strategies.
- Proactively identify strategic issues which will impact SaskTel's success; develop and present recommendations/business cases/proposals to senior management, responding to identified threats and opportunities.
- Provide strategic direction for service development focus and
- Accountable for obtaining, understanding and assessing customer trends, current and emerging market trends and technological advancements in order to identify strategic threats and opportunities.
- Provide leadership and assistance to marketing managers, corporate planners and other SaskTel departments on the business impacts of market trends and SaskTel's strategies for addressing them.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Bachelor Degree in Business Administration/Commerce or equivalent. A combination of related business experience and education will be considered.
- A minimum of 4 years of demonstrated leadership in marketing strategy and/or product management.
- Must display broad conceptual skills and have the ability to translate concepts into tactical action plans.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic thinking, innovation and leading cross functional teams.
- Ability to build good working relationships and influence others at all levels in the Corporation
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate ideas and concepts with ease and clarity to peers and executives.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
