Oshki-Wenjack is currently seeking a Health and Safety/ HR Officer who will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment by developing, implementing and monitoring health and safety programs and policies. This role involves conducting risk assessments, training employees, and ensuring compliance with relevant health and safety regulations. In addition to these tasks, the Health and Safety/HR Officer will assist the HR Manager with full cycle recruitment and administrative tasks.

**KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Health and Safety**
- Conduct workplace inspections: regularly inspect the workplace to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with relevant workplace regulations
- Assist in developing safety programs: create and implement health and safety programs, including policies, procedures and training sessions to mitigate risks
- Training and Education: Provide training to employees on health and safety practices, emergency procedures, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when and where required
- Report preparation: Prepare detailed reports on health and safety activities, including inspection findings, incident reports and compliance audits
- Communicate effectively with employees, and external stakeholders regarding health and safety issues and initiatives
- Take part in monthly facility inspections, including review the inspection reports, and ensure that any identified safety concerns are resolved.
- Coordinate and ensure annual fire safety inspections are conducted
- Ad hoc safety related tasks within the normal scope of the service of a health and safety officer

**Human Resources**
- Provide general administrative support to the HR Manager
- Coordinate and support employee training programs, including professional development and mandatory compliance training
- Any other duties as requested by the HR Manager within the normal scope of the service of a Human Resource Officer

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $55,000.00 per year
