Detailed Job Description Start your career at a global company PetroChina Canada (PCC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of PetroChina Company Limited which is partially owned by China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), a state-owned enterprise. CNPC is China's largest oil company and the world's third largest oil company, operating 91 energy-related projects in over 35 countries and regions. PCC has invested billions of dollars in an asset-rich portfolio of upstream, midstream and downstream operations. In Alberta, this includes our MacKay River and Dover oilsands projects, Duvernay Shale Gas and a 50% interest in the Grand Rapids Pipeline. In British Columbia, we hold joint venture interests in the Groundbirch tight gas project and LNG Canada. PCC is looking for a student to join our Legal team for a 4-month term starting in May 2026. Based in our Calgary Head Office the student will provide litigation support, document reviews, research, and other work as needed. Accountabilities Assist in updating legal templates to address legislative changesReview contracts and provide comments with guidance of Legal teamAssist the Legal team in execution of special requests and projects from the business and asset teams as neededPrepare legal memorandum to answer business questionsConduct legal researchOther duties as required Qualifications Currently enrolled at an accredited law school or in a relevant business degree programPrevious experience in an oil and gas setting is an assetAble to work independently as well as in a team settingWorking knowledge of Legal conceptsProficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint)Able to manage confidential materials in a professional and appropriate mannerStrong interpersonal, communication, organizational and analytical skillsFlexible and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyAble to work in a fast-paced environment with urgency and commitment to achieving goalsLegally able to work in CanadaAdoption and demonstration of PCC Values (Honorable, Unified, Passionate, Accountable) About Us PetroChina Canada (PCC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of PetroChina Company Limited which is partially owned by China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), a state-owned enterprise.
