Job descriptionHireArt is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company find an experienced Technical Writer - Mechanical to author and maintain all types of BaseOps technical documentation to support technicians and engineers with maintaining its autonomous vehicle fleet.In this role, you’ll work closely with engineers and technicians to gather technical information and produce accurate, high-quality service documentation that supports vehicle maintenance and repair operations.The ideal candidate is a clear communicator and strong cross-functional collaborator, capable of translating complex engineering details into precise, easy-to-follow service procedures.As a Technical Writer - Mechanical, you'll:Create and update technical documentation for:Vehicle-level inspections, maintenance, and repair proceduresRemove and replace operationsFleet upgrades and rework proceduresTechnical service bulletinsInspection and maintenance guidelinesRequirementsBachelor's degree in technical writing or a related field2-4 years of experience as a technical writer, with hands-on involvement in creating and maintaining automotive service and repair documentationPrior experience in OEM support or working in a repair shop environment as a vehicle technicianProficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Office SuiteExperience with topic-based writing concepts and markup language experience (HTML, XML, or DITA XML)Experience with documentation and collaboration tools, such as Oxygen XML (DITA), JIRA, GitHub, Confluence, Adobe Creative Suite, and CATIA 3DXStrong written and verbal communication skills with proven cross-functional collaboration abilityHigh attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to safetyAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environmentSelf-starter with a proactive, team-oriented mindsetBenefits:Pre-tax commuter benefitsEmployer (HireArt) Subsidized healthcare benefitsFlexible Spending Account for healthcare-related costsHireArt covers all costs for short and long-term disability and life insurance401k packageCommitment: This is a full-time, ongoing contract position staffed via HireArt.
