Systems Analyst (AI) Temporary Full-time Barrie, Ontario Apply Now Posting Number: TC-26-10 Job Type: Temporary Full-time, up to 2 Years, Union Salary Range: $79,206.40 to $94,840.20 per year Posted: Friday, January 23, 2026 Application Deadline: Monday, February 16, 2026 at 11:59 pm The Opportunity The Information Technology Department provides information technology expertise and professional services to all City departments, affiliated agencies (Barrie Public Library, Barrie Police Services) and area municipalities receiving Barrie fire dispatch services. The Department is responsible for delivering, administering, managing and supporting (in partnership with the business units) all data and voice communications, including but not limited to network infrastructure, servers, storage infrastructure, printers, computing infrastructure, applications and software, databases, web services, geographic information systems, and project and portfolio management. The Department provides daily technology support to over 1100 users at more than 40 City locations across the City. The AI Systems Analyst role will play an important role in enhancing the City's information technology solutions through the integration of advanced AI technologies. Working closely with the Business Applications and Digital Transformation teams, the position will design, configure, test, implement, administer, and securely manage AI solutions that meet the operational needs of the City’s business operating units. The AI Systems Analyst will foster strong collaborative relationships with IT staff, project team members, other City staff and users, and external partners – such as other municipalities, agencies, and vendors – through out the solution development lifecycle, to ensure the delivery of high quality and reliable solutions that achieve defined project outcomes and align with corporate objectives and departmental requirements.
