RQ10021 - Systems Testing/QA Specialist - Senior 11-month contract  Onsite / 21 College Street, Toronto Justice Technology Services - Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement Security Level: CRJMC Scope Contribute towards testing activities for the delivery and product management life cycle of the CDT project. The resource will be responsible for the following activities: Lead and contribute to in the development of test strategy, preparation of test cases and / scenarios, test scripts, regression test cases and scenarios required to verify solution and system, and testing summary reporting at the end of testing cyclesManage and schedule all test activities including test case development, DevOps maintenance activities, AODA and stress/load testing Lead team and participate in the execution of test cases and scripts to verify solution. Reconcile, manage, record and track system or functional defects, break/fixes identified during unit, system, functional, business and user acceptance testing Assignment Deliverables Review functional and design specifications to ensure full understanding of individual deliverablesIdentify test requirements from specifications, map test case requirements and design test coverage planIdentify any potential quality issues per defined process and escalate potential quality issues to management Develop, document, and maintain functional, system and UAT test cases and other test artifacts like the test plans, test scripts, test data, test summary reports and data validation Supervise and participate in the executing of manual test cases and report test results. Oversee the documentation of software defects and track resolution and communicate defect related issues to project team Development of test plans, test cases and test scripts to validate the functionality of various modulesAbility to create test plan, test cases and test scripts to validate those changes made to the applicationSupport User Acceptance Testing and lead initial UAT sessions, providing guidance to the business users during UATReview user documentation and provide feedback to improve application alignment and clarity of the informationManagement and maintenance of defect log and communication of defect related issues to project manager and project teamWorking closely with QA teams, business resources and developers vendor resources holding or support triage sessions to ensure appropriate, logging, tracking, monitoring, prioritization and remediation of defects Prepare test data sets that mimic real-world scenarios, ensuring the data covers a wide range of cases and scenariosAbility to create and execute database queries to extract relevant dataExecute and evaluate manual/automated test cases and report test resultsHold, facilitate, or support test plan/test case reviews with cross functional team membersDesired Skills and ExperienceExperience in planning, organizing and implementing testing efforts at the specified experience levelKnowledge of structured methodologies for the development, design, implementation and maintenance of applicationsKnowledge and experience in the use of automated test tools and version control systems on one or more platforms, like Microsoft DevOpsExperience initiating the specification, preparation, implementation and execution of tests, monitor the test results, checking the entrance and exit criteriaExperience executing functional tests, non-functional tests and systems level integration testsExperience coordinating testing activities with project managers and others team membersExperience supporting user acceptance testing and participating in UAT activitiesExperience contributing the testing perspective to other project activities, such as development, integration testing, etcExperience with quality assurance principles, practices, tools and structured methodologiesExperience creating testing strategy documentation, test plans, test cases and test data for various types and phases of testing, including technical and business functional validationExperience adapting planning based on test results and progress (tweaking the plan) and take necessary actions to compensate for problemsExperience in quality assurance and testing, including unit testing, data testing, integration testing, load testing, performance testing, etcKnowledge and experience in all phases of the Systems Development Life CycleExcellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; organizational, creativity and perseverance skills; verbal and written communication skills; and interpersonal skillsA team player with a track record for meeting deadlines, with the ability to shift priorities quickly and effectively when needed Must Have: - 8+ years of demonstrated QA experience, including leading QA teams, defect tracking using a collaborative tool to manage defects and change request and to communicate status of these to all project participants - Hands-on experiences with technologies/platforms such as SharePoint, Web Services, HTML, JavaScript and VBScript, COTS, SaaS and Cloud applications - Demonstrated experience working with clients and technical teams to ensure effective resolution of defects and management of change requests are complete · Knowledge and experience in the use of version control systems on one or more platforms, preferably Microsoft DevOps · Knowledge and experience in all phases of the Systems Development Life Cycle · Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; organizational, creativity and perseverance skills; verbal and written communication skills; and interpersonal skills
