Acting as a trusted resource to managers, supervisors, and employees, this role delivers practical solutions to ensure compliance with corporate policies, legal regulations, and industry best practices.You’ll lead initiatives to reduce risks, investigate incidents, support return-to-work processes, and foster a proactive safety-first culture. With your collaborative, hands-on approach, you’ll support safe operations at project sites and within our teams every day.What We OfferCompetitive compensation packageComprehensive health, dental, and vision benefitsPaid vacation and RRSP matchingEmployee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP)Professional development opportunities and ongoing trainingA supportive team environment committed to safety, leadership, and personal growthKey ResponsibilitiesMaintain and manage employee safety training records and safety data systemsPlan and support safety protocols for new project start-ups, including site safety plans and worksite auditsDevelop and enforce safe work practices in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) legislationEnsure compliance with company-wide safety policies for employees, subcontractors, and clientsManage WCB claims, return-to-work plans, and injury documentationAct as the lead safety liaison for project teams, conducting regular inspections and safety auditsPromote accident prevention through health and safety initiatives, trend analysis, and recommendationsPrepare and distribute safety reports, hazard assessments, toolbox talks, and related documentationLead or support incident investigations and ensure implementation of corrective actionsCollaborate with Health and Safety Committee members to ensure compliance and certification standardsAssist with onboarding new hires through health and safety orientations, PPE setup, WHMIS/asbestos training, and respirator fit testingMaintain COR (Certificate of Recognition) status by completing internal audits and supporting external reviewsMonitor legislation and industry standards by attending ongoing training, conferences, and updatesOperate in accordance with BELFOR’s policies and procedures for a safe work environmentPerform other duties as assigned by the Director of Health and SafetyQualificationsPost-secondary education or certification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related fieldStrong knowledge of health and safety regulations, standards, and compliance requirementsExcellent communication skills and ability to engage diverse teams in safety practicesAbility to conduct inspections, analyze safety data, and lead safety investigationsProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and safety data management systemsValid driver’s license and ability to travel between job sites as neededFamiliarity with COR auditing procedures and WCB claims managementExperience in construction, restoration, or insurance industry environments is an assetHuman Rights Statement:BELFOR (Canada) Inc. promotes equity, diversity, and a respectful workplace.
