We envision a bright future in Coquitlam that we hope includes you About You / What We Are Looking For The City is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst who thrives in a complex, operationally focused environment. This position is physically and functionally embedded within the RCMP detachment. This is an exciting opportunity to support public safety. The Senior Financial Analyst will lead the clerical staff in the RCMP Financial Services Section and reports to the Manager, Business Services – Community Safety. The position assists in the development and maintenance of the RCMP multi-year financial plans and cost-share analysis; and ensures adherence to RCMP financial policies while supporting the operational and strategic initiatives within the RCMP and Community Safety department. The successful incumbent will be analytical, detail-oriented and independent. Unlike a centralized financial services role, this position is highly integrated into the day-to-day operations of the RCMP detachment and requires the ability to translate financial information into practical, decision-ready advice for a diverse group of stakeholders. The Senior Financial Analyst will bring forward a thorough understanding of accounting principles, practices, procedures, systems and controls. Experience working in a policing environment is an asset. This includes being familiar with RCMP policies and with laws and regulations governing the work that we do, but also excellent skills in commonly used computer applications and the ability to effectively communicate with others. Minimum Qualifications The ideal candidate will hold a university degree in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline, and must hold a CPA designation and be proficient with Microsoft Excel. Experience with budgeting and long-term forecasting systems including PeopleSoft, Oracle and Maximo would be considered an asset. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a policing environment Experience supervising staff What We Offer: This CUPE position has an hourly rate range of $45.75 - $54.03 (2025 rates). The rate of pay is based on a variety of factors including qualifications, knowledge, experience and skills. Additionally, there is an opportunity to participate in an earned day off/flex day program.
