Job Overview: Position(s): Journeyman Crane Operator(s) Shift Schedule: Rotation – 20/7 Location: Gillam, ManitobaForbes Bros Ltd. is currently looking for experienced Journeyman Crane Operator(s) (fulltime-permanent) to join our team, This is a field-based role that will require the successful candidate(s) to travel to the remote camp job site in Gillam, Manitoba. This project is anticipated for completion in April 2026.Our Crane Operators work with various cranes, boom trucks and other equipment based on experience and training for the appropriate project site. This successful candidate will be responsible for the safe operation of site crane(s) and other equipment as required by project needs.What We Offer:Competitive hourly wage Comprehensive health benefits plan Enrolment in Pension ProgramVacation pay & Stat Holiday pay Annual boot allowance of $250 & annual clothing allowance of up to $900Family orientated working environment Opportunities for career growth and developmentKey Responsibilities:Emulates Forbes Bros core value of 'WE WORK SAFE' in all daily tasksOperate the crane in a safe and appropriate manner and abide by all local, provincial, and federal regulations, as well as all company safety proceduresLifting lattice structuresEnsure rigging is maintained and certifiedPerform pre-operational inspections, safety checks, test lifts ensure they meet engineered lift plansConfirm load chart calculations and lift calculations are doneCommunicates with assigned crews to determine the best placement of crane for planned liftPerform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment and report any damages or repair needs to the appropriate partiesDocument regular maintenance checks to maintain adequate records of equipment performancePerform other tasks related to this function as assignedCandidate Requirements:Minimum three (3) years' experience operating the respective site of crane (up to 100 tons), with powerline and lattice structures/towers, is required. Journeyperson Red Seal Crane Certificate, is requiredClass 3 Driver's license, is requiredUnderstanding of utility construction, is preferredStrong communication skills, with the ability to direct a team to efficiently and effectively complete jobs within deadlinesFlexible with hours worked, travel, and working in adverse weather conditionsAble and willing to accommodate frequent overtime hours and weekend hours when requiredAble and willing to perform manual labour in varying weather conditions and environments inclusive of heavy liftingAble and willing to provide an acceptable five (5) year Driver's AbstractDisclaimer: As per client/site requirements, candidates may be required to undergo pre-access screening.
