You will be responsible for ensuring the Quality, Authenticity, Food Safety and Legality for all programs and practices are being met.Duties & ResponsibilitiesManage and maintain the Food Safety PlanEvaluate new equipment for complianceMaintain the Food Safety Prerequisite programs – writing, verifying, validating, and approving SOPsParticipating in production trials and product start upsParticipate in regulatory, customer, and internal auditsAssist with traceability programs and processesEnsure the facility is in compliance with federal, provincial, and regulatory laws or guidelinesSchedule and coordinate the completion of the internal quality and food safety audit (BRCGS)Ensure the facility is in compliance with organic, kosher, halal, and GFSI requirementsCoordinate third party, customer, and government auditsConduct monthly internal inspectionsEnsure all facility personnel are trained in quality, GMP, and Food Safety awarenessQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredBachelor's degree in Food Science or a related field and/or 4 years' experience in regulated food manufacturing facility is preferredBackground in Quality Control or Quality Assurance is an assetKnowledge and understanding of statistics, Good Manufacturing Practices and regulations, Food Safety Standards, and CFIA Standards, or the ability to learn the aforementionedExcellent written and verbal communication skillsExcellent leadership, project management, critical thinking, and problem-solving skillsMust be able to read, write and speak EnglishStrong PC Skills, specifically with Microsoft OfficePCQI Certification, or ability to become certifiedPlanning and organizational skills and meticulous record keeping abilitiesSelf-motivated with the ability to multitask and prioritize while remaining organized and detail orientatedHours of Work This position works 8hr/day, Monday – Friday.
