JOB DESCRIPTION Alta Vista Specialty & Emergency is hiring a Patient and Client Care Coordinator (Specialty & Emergency). This is a full-time (35-40 hours weekly) permanent position. The shifts will include days, evenings and weekends. This position reports directly to the Client Care Manager. This position is open to Client Care Representatives, Veterinary Technicians and Assistants.This position is responsible for several aspects of in-hospital patient care, including: coding files, acting as the liaison between the DVM and the client for patient, medical and financial updates, performing patient discharges, payments and educating the client on home care and necessary follow-up instructions.This position is also responsible for client patient follow-up calls, assisting with dietary recommendations & other aspects of client care.:Create a warm and welcoming environment for our patients and pet parentsAbility to answer a multiline phone system and track and book appointments effectivelyPlacing outbound calls to pet parents for follow-up and future appointment bookingsRespond and manage email correspondence; clients, referring veterinarians & internal office messagesAdmitting and discharging pet patientsInvoicing/billing; creating estimates, obtaining pet owner confirmation and processing paymentsScheduling appointmentsExcellent customer service skills; a real aptitude for putting people at ease and creating a welcoming environmentQualifications: Fluent in English (Reading, Writing and Oral); and, Able to support patients up to 50kg and lift up to 25kg.: Fluent bilingual in French and English (Reading, Writing and Oral). 1 year of client care experience.Skills:Excellent time management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks/projectsExcellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and teamwork skillsProven ability to organize, take initiative, work independently, and exercise good judgmentDecision-making and critical thinking skills;Ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships with professionalism and integrityExhibits a positive attitude and uses courtesy, diplomacy and discretionMaintains professional ethics and confidentiality.What VCA Canada Offers Join our team and you will make a huge difference in the lives of pets and their families With an extensive network of hospitals across Canada, each location offers a diverse experience, a local community feel, and a caring culture of Wellness and Appreciation you can thrive inRRSP Employer 5 % Match Program – saving for your future just got easierVCA Canada RRSP Student Loan - Ask us moreA caring culture of Wellness and Appreciation Medical Library; 2000+ journals, 600+ textbooks, research, and more at your fingertipsCompetitive wages and health/dental benefitsOpportunity to apply for a Veterinary Technician/Technologist scholarship (annual process)Annual uniform allowanceExceptional career development: there is room to grow hereReferral Bonus RewardsOpportunities to give back to your community through VCA initiativesGenerous personal pet care discountsExtra perks like shopping discounts and cool wellness appsClick
