Join OPG and make history.  Whether you work in the skilled trades or are a business professional, a career at OPG is an opportunity to electrify your life on -- and off -- the job.   JOB OVERVIEW Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Senior Manager, Indigenous Partnerships, Business Development.  Reporting to the Director, the Senior Manager, Indigenous Partnership plays a critical leadership role, responsible for the development and execution of an Indigenous Engagement strategy in support of project objectives, ensures integration with projects, and delivers educational materials; OPG’s Indigenous Relations Policy and related governance. The Senior Manager, Indigenous Relations will endeavor to establish and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities, and their chosen representatives. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES To develop and execute strategy as well as provide expertise, leadership, coordination, and advice on past grievance negotiations and other matters relating to Indigenous Relations at OPG. These accountabilities are distributed among the Senior Managers on the team.Advise project staff on Indigenous engagement requirements, best practices, and opportunities.Work with project staff to ensure complex information is communicated in clear and understandable terminology and recognizes the worldviews and interests of the Indigenous Nation and communities.Document engagement activities and prepare reports as required by project stakeholders, OPG governance, project plans, or regulations.Travel to Indigenous communities to establish and maintain relationships with Indigenous community leadership as well as Indigenous Provincial and Territorial Organizations (PTOs).Apply judgment, discretion and initiative in managing sensitive issues involving Indigenous communities and their citizens, including Aboriginal and treaty rights, and negotiating outcomes that strike the appropriate balance between the interests of OPG and the respective community.Develop, or facilitate the development of, educational materials to share with Indigenous Nations and communities regarding the ongoing operations and new developments of OPG.Negotiate agreements for capacity, traditional knowledge studies, accommodation and potential partnerships.  QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Indigenous Relations, or Business or equivalent is required; and Master of Business Administration (MBA), Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is considered an asset. Specific academic focus on Indigenous Studies is considered an assetMinimum 8+ years of progressive experience as a strategic project leader, who has demonstrated experience in effectively developing and executing Indigenous Engagement strategies.Hands-on demonstrated expertise as a subject matter expert in advising stakeholders on Indigenous engagement requirements, best practices, and opportunities.Prior experience in establishing, building and maintaining relationships with Indigenous Nations and communities and leaders as well as Indigenous associations, Indigenous Provincial and Territorial Organizations (PTOs) and maintain with government officials at the local, provincial and federal levelExtensive experience in development or assessment of complex proposals with negotiation, interpretation, and administration of complex agreements and contracts.Past experience negotiating agreements for capacity, traditional knowledge studies, accommodation and potential partnerships between organizations and Indigenous communitiesAbility to communicate effectively, possess excellent oral and writing skills, and strong facilitation, negotiation, influencing and presentation skills. The successful candidate will exhibit uncompromising integrity and commitment to upholding corporate values, and the OPG Code of Business Conduct.  OPG is committed to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and accessible environment.
