We are currently seeking a Part Time Personal Attendant to work with our AbleLiving Binbrook Team at our congregate living program*Please note: this location is not accessible by public transit - access to a vehicle or reliable transportation is a requirement for this position. AbleLiving Services is part of the Thrive Group. We are a not-for-profit organization that provides services funded through Ontario Health. Ableliving opened its doors in 1978 with the first project being our Binbrook location. Duties include assisting clients with personal care, arranging and escorting clients to appointments, and housekeeping services. Such duties are carried out under the direction of the client or alternate decision maker and in accordance with Client Service Contracts, laws and regulations governing service provision. REQUIREMENTS: Experience in the provision of personal support services to people with disabilities and/or seniors are requirements for this position. High School Diploma Additional certification in personal support care, first aid, health care or other related qualification preferred Ability to empathize with people with physical and emotional needs is essential Knowledge of basic math and ability to do calculations and quantity measurements are required Must be able to plan and organize work and perform tasks according to priority Ability to make solid decisions and problem-solve effectively are also essential Good oral and written communication skills, with a competent level of English are requirements Able to communicate in other languages is an asset Must demonstrate high commitment to providing exceptional customer service and be reliable, punctual, and capable of managing time effectively Ability to develop supportive relationships and work collaboratively with clients, family members, colleagues, volunteers, and community partners are essential Must be able to take direction and work independently as well as part of a team A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check or Criminal Reference Check is required Job Type: Part-Time, Temporary Starting Rate: $24.00/hour as per CUPE Local Collective Agreement +Provincial Wage Enhancement of $3.00 We are currently hiring to fill an existing position on our team.
