Job Summary:The Cloud Cost Management/FinOps Data Analyst will drive the adoption of cloud financial management (FinOps) best practices to optimize cloud spend across multiple vendors. This role focuses on monitoring, analyzing, and reporting cloud costs, identifying optimization opportunities, and supporting cost governance, chargeback models, and compliance within a large enterprise environment.Key Responsibilities:Drive adoption of Cloud FinOps capabilities and best practices for cloud cost managementMonitor, analyze, and report cloud spend across multiple cloud vendorsDevelop scripts and workflows to automate data collection and reporting using Python and SQLDesign, build, and maintain dashboards and reports using BI and analytics toolsIdentify cost-saving opportunities through usage analysis, rightsizing, and purchasing strategies (Reserved Instances, Savings Plans)Partner with technology and engineering teams to provide execution support for cost optimization initiativesTrack cost optimization actions and associated financial valueManage vendor commercial incentives including Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and cloud creditsSupport implementation of cost recovery and chargeback models for shared services, platforms, and SaaSMonitor ongoing compliance with cloud cost management standards, controls, and proceduresRequired Skills:Experience in financial analysis and working with large datasetsStrong ability to create data-driven executive-level reports and materialsExperience Level: Level 3 (senior): 5-7 yearsKnowledge of IT infrastructure and public cloud conceptsExperience with public cloud cost management tools and mechanics (native and third-party)Database experience with structured, unstructured, and columnar data storesExperience with Agile development methodologies and CI/CD practicesHands-on experience with SDLC tools such as Jira, GitHub, and BitbucketStrong analytical, problem-solving, and independent working capabilityExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPreferred Skills:Development experience using Python, Java, ETL/ELT pipelines, and APIs (Swagger)Experience with data modeling tools and platforms (PostgreSQL, PowerDesigner)Experience with analytics databases such as SnowflakeStrong understanding of IT cost management strategies, models, processes, and toolsExperience with business chargeback, cost recovery models, TCO analysis, and capacity planningHands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP cost tools including Cost Explorer, Cost and Usage Reports, Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and vendor discount modelsUnderstanding of cloud billing processes and proceduresFinOps and/or TBM certification preferredEducation:Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience Education: Bachelors Degree
