Overview Maintenance Millwright Mechanic role at Atlantic Packaging Products Ltd. Primary Purpose: Ensure operation of mechanical systems and equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements and troubleshooting problems on conveyors and machinery, using manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, etc. Key Accountabilities Maintenance: Focus on minimizing downtime through preventive maintenance and effective troubleshooting techniques. Prepare maintenance reports and make recommendations for improvements as necessary. Maintain technical knowledge by attending education workshops. Repair and replace pumps, valves, motors, etc., as required. Quality Control Perform quality checks on all work performed. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with health and safety and housekeeping practices, and using personal protective equipment. Prepare maintenance reports and recommend improvements as necessary. Other Responsibilities Maintain documentation as required by Atlantic Packaging Utilize documentation in CMMS Install new machines and equipment Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results and other duties as assigned Inform production workers of routine mechanical preventive maintenance plans Required Qualifications Education Must have a valid Ontario Industrial Mechanic License - 433A Red Seal Journeyman certification Experience Minimum 2–3 years of previous experience in a manufacturing environment Exposure to mechanical devices, pneumatic controls and welding/cutting All-position welding preferred (stainless steel pipe, guard repairs, etc.) Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Troubleshooting skills Good communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with all employees Ability to read mechanical drawings Nature and Scope Impact: Responsible for completing preventive maintenance requirements and troubleshooting problems on conveyors Contacts: Internal and external Leadership/Level of Responsibility: Coaching and directing Freedom to Act/Decision-Making Authority: Makes decisions to ensure operation of mechanical systems and equipment Physical and Sensory Demands: Attention to detail and walking Working Environment: Plants and mills Atlantic Packaging is dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment where all colleagues and customers feel valued and supported.
