Join EllisDon we work in, and our latest You as an Estimator will: Confidently lead a team through the completion of a bid process under pressure while building strong relationships with sub-trades. Assemble accurate, timely and well organized estimates, including hard-bid, construction management and design-build. Organize sub-contractor quotes when the bid is successful, re-writing binders and assisting the buy-out process. Distribute sub-trade quotes to personnel, flagging areas of concern and coordinating with management to accommodate risk within the bid price. Maintain databases, including labour rates, material pricing and project costs, for future reference. Oversee prequalification submissions, RFQ’s and RFI’s. Review drawings and tender documents to understand scope of work and submission requirements. Develops and maintains strong relationships with all stakeholders, specifically sub trade contractors. Recognizes risks related to project-specific requirements, site, schedule, and market conditions /constraints. Completes full quantity take-off of all labor, equipment, and materials for medium to- large scopes. Establishes a critical path schedule, including milestone dates and completion timelines for projects. Is this the right role for you? You have five to seven years of Commercial Construction estimating experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience. You have a working knowledge of corporate objectives impacting estimating, estimating strategies and techniques, and construction contracts. Strong interpersonal skills; ability to create and maintain strong relationships, strong communication skills, and attention to detail; as well as the ability to. work effectively and accurately in time sensitive situations within a team Ability to calculate mathematical extensions, read and understand engineering drawings, purchase orders, contracts, cost coding systems, etc. is essential. Ability to interpret construction drawings and contract documents. Strong interpersonal skills; ability to create and maintain strong relationships. Strong communication skills.
