Licensed Assistant II

Join our investment advisory team in Ottawa as a Licensed Assistant II at our brand-new office located at 55 Metcalfe Street. This is a 18-month contract starting February 10, 2026, and running through September 13, 2027. In this role, you will support corporate advisors by managing administrative tasks, client services, and account management within a strong, community-focused office environment. You will primarily support one specific advisor while collaborating with a wider team of advisors and assistants.Location: Ottawa, OntarioDuration: 18-Month ContractAdvantagesModern Workspace: Work in a fabulous brand-new office location at 55 Metcalfe Street.Comprehensive Training: Benefit from a dedicated overlap period starting in early February for training with the incumbent and other licensed assistants.Work-Life Balance: Standard full-time hours (7.5 hours daily) typically from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.Flexible Environment: While the role is advertised as five days in-office, there is potential flexibility for remote work days depending on the advisor and candidate.Team Culture: Be part of a great team known for its strong sense of community.ResponsibilitiesClient Service: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients calling with financial concerns and handle all client inquiries with professionalism.Account Management: Process account openings, transfers, updates, and handle trade entries on the system.Administrative Support: Manage advisor calendars, schedule meetings, resolve scheduling conflicts, and set up conference calls.Data Integrity: Document all client interactions meticulously in Salesforce, which is a critical requirement for this role.Problem Resolution: Handle escalations and resolve issues by coordinating with the head office or back office.QualificationsLicensing (Mandatory): Must have Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and Conduct and Practices Handbook (CPH) certifications for Investment Dealer licensing. Candidates with only one of these will be considered only if they are prepared to complete the other; those without any licensing will not be considered.Experience: At least one year of practical experience supporting advisors in a financial services, mutual fund, or investment dealer environment (recent graduates with one year of experience are acceptable).Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with CRM programs, specifically Salesforce.
