Job DescriptionWHAT’S THE JOB?The Breakfast cook reports to Chef and is responsible for ensuring freshness, quality, consistency and  variety of breakfast is served on time to clients. You are responsible for preparing and cooking breakfast as per requirements. Also, ensuring all meals are prepared and served on time to the highest of standards of the company.  This position is safety sensitive and requires drug, alcohol, and fit to work testing as a condition of employment. The position involves a remote work lifestyle in a camp setting with the following amenities:All meals and accommodations are provided Travel is provided to and from Edmonton AirportPrivate room with cable television Access to Wi-Fi Access to laundry facilities and detergents Access to a gym and common areas Your work will include:Prepare breakfast menu as approved by Chef. Prepare a fruit bar for breakfast as stated in the fruit for breakfast list. Prepare breakfast sandwiches with bacon, ham, or sausage and egg Cook eggs to order as requested by client. Prepare vegetables and any meats for an omelet bar. Have breakfast specials. E.g. Blueberry pancakes, Eggs Benedict, Waffles’, crepes, etc. Prepare RTE Containers from left over products for the lunchroom Set up and take down steam table.  Assist with the clean-up including garbage and floors in kitchen. Clean and sanitize all work areas including work surfaces and equipment.  Assist with putting away groceries.  Maintain a clean and organized cooler and stock area. Provide professional, courteous guest service at all times Check and document temperatures of coolers and freezers. Any other duties as assigned by the Chef  Cook breakfast items from scratch as required Mix and cook pancakes Prepare all breakfast ingredients  Breakfast items such as sausages & bacon Ensure breakfast menu and quantity are prepared as per Chef requirements Serve at the breakfast line and provide highest level of customer service Responsible for overall food presentation and portioning Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of dining room and overall kitchen Ensure health and safety regulations and quality standards are maintained including dating all items Working Conditions: Project-based role with primary work in Nunavut, flexibility for remote work when not on-site.Ability to work long shifts and rotational schedules (e.g., 4 weeks on /2 weeks off or similar).Endurance to function effectively in remote northern climates, including extreme cold, wind, or lack of daylight during specific periods.Resilience under isolation conditions—long periods away from home with limited external contact.Fly-in/fly-out arrangement; shared accommodations and meals provided while on-site.Extended periods away from home with possible weather-related travel delays.Must comply with all company and client health, safety, and operational standards.QualificationsWHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?Previous experience providing a hot breakfast service in high volumes is requiredCurrent Food Safe certificate is requiredLarge-scale cooking experience in camp settings, banquet halls and/or hotels is a strong assetRed Seal or other certifications is an assetExperience in accurately producing weekly inventoriesExperience with producing baked goods (scratch baking and/or pre-fab items) is an assetPrevious supervisory experience is an assetAbility to pass the Drug and Alcohol and Fitness Test is requiredA team-player who is committed to providing client satisfactionMust have valid government issued photo ID for travel to siteBe able to handle the following physical demands:Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbsClimb ladders or stairsStand, walk, squat, kneel or sit according to task for extended lengths of timePerform repetitive hand work requiring full use of both handsPerform work with arms at full lengthWork with arms above shoulder heightAdditional InformationWHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?Competitive compensation packageYou will receive competitive medical and dental benefits upon day of hire PLUS $500 annual Wellness Benefit AND $500 annual Health Spending AccountEmployee Referral Program – earn up to $1000 for each referral hiredAdvancement opportunities Work schedule and remuneration: Breakfast Cooks work on a rotational schedule of 4 weeks on/2 weeks off rotation. Site locations are in remote settings, requiring air travel to site. You may be required to work nights, weekdays, weekends, and general holidays.
