Junior Accountant

Position OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Accountant to join our Family Office team. This role involves managing daily accounting tasks across multiple entities, in varying businesses and industries. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a collaborative environment and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where adaptability and problem solving are key. Full-Cycle Accounting & BookkeepingProcess and maintain the full cycle of accounts payable and accounts receivable for various entitiesManage AP contracts and subscriptions and coordinate renewalsCommunicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies and assist onboard new vendorsPerform full cycle bookkeeping functions for other Beedie-owned businessesMaintain accurate record keeping by performing bank, credit card, intercompany, and other account reconciliations and resolving identified discrepancies as necessaryBanking & TreasuryAssist with treasury functions including online banking, bank deposits, and cash balance monitoringAssist the corporate cash flow budgeting and forecasting processCompliance & ReportingPrepare and file GST/PST returnsAssist with month-end closing and preparation of financial statements and management reportsPrepare tax returns including T1, T2, T3, charity, and other tax returns as neededAdministrative & Team SupportLiaise with family members and internal teams to support various initiatives Provide general office administration and assist with special projects as neededDesired Skills and ExperienceMinimum 1–2 years of relevant accounting experienceDiploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent work experience)Proficiency in accounting software (, QuickBooks, Netsuite, Yardi)Proficient in MS Office package, including Excel, Word, and Outlook Familiarity with Canadian tax regulations and experience with tax software (, Taxprep, iFirm) is an assetExceptional attention to detail and organizational skillsExcellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skillsOrganized self starter, able to adapt and problem solve with minimal supervisionStrong sense of ownership and accountability with a humble work ethicAbility to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently or collaboratively within a team environmentSelf-Aware and open to learning new things$50,000 - $60,000 a yearThe annual base pay range for this position will be based on the desired experience level for this role.
