Join us and be part of a company that values excellence and progressGrowing company with opportunity to grow with team and departmentStable full-time hours; no rotating shiftsEmployee referral bonus program (minimum $300 per hire)Competitive benefits package for you and your family at 3 months of servicePension plan and company matching at 1 year of serviceFloater day given on top of vacation daysDiverse workforce; translation of communication materials into 8 languagesDiscounts on quality pork productsEmployee assistance program (financial assistance, mental health resources)Social Committee events (food trucks, gifts, games)BBQ's and wellness programsOn-site training and company provided equipmentEmployee scholarship program and English coursesKEY JOB FUNCTIONS / ROLES / RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible to manage and direct all Maintenance employees in day-to-day activities in accordance with the principles of CMP's core valuesResponsible for conducting and issuing performance reviews; identifies training needs within the department; provides informal feedback; provides ongoingcommunication through daily meetingsEnsures all legislative training requirements are maintainedResponsible for monitoring attendance and reviewing and authorizing weekly payrollAssists and supports employees with any issues or concernsResponsible for issuing discipline as requiredAssign and distribute weekly/daily preventative maintenance work ordersEvaluate existing and potential suppliersActively participate in plant audits (Safety & HACCP) to ensure maintenance activities are compliantAchieves financial objectives by monitoring results, analysing results and initiating corrective actionsPromotes continuous improvement and identifies cost reduction/savings opportunities.Maintains safety standards of equipment and work areaPlans and directs the efficient utilization of all equipment and manpowerFollows and complies with all Operational Procedures and policiesEnsures compliance with all Health & Safety policies within the department; conducts accident investigations; identifies and reports hazards in the workplace; actively works to prevent accidents, injuries with the workplaceEnsures compliance with all GMP's, HACCP and CFIA proceduresPersonal DevelopmentAttend company required trainingRemain current with technical knowledge in areas of responsibilityAttend regular 1:1 coaching/update sessionsQUALIFICATIONS:Ontario Certificate of Qualification in the required field (Millwright or Electrician)Minimum 3-5 years related technical manufacturing experience, preferably within the meat processing industryMinimum 3-5 years related Supervisory experienceAbility to be flexible in hours of work in order to meet internal/external customer requirements including overtimeAbility to uphold and maintain confidentialityDemonstrated proficiency in Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook)Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both written and verbally, to all levels of the organizationPersonal value set that supports Conestoga's Company valuesStrong interpersonal skills and team orientationAbility to manage multiple priorities and responsibilities, within identified time constraints, to achieve resultsWORKING CONDITIONSNoise levels may exceed 85 DbA (hearing protection is provided)Cold environment Working in close proximity of knivesWorking in congested and high forklift traffic areasSome areas may have odoursPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMay be required to lift up to 50 pounds on an occasional basisKEY COMPETENCIESSafety FirstMaintaining an environment that shows a genuine concern for the well-being of employees, and which is committed to achieving a safe workplace at Conestoga MeatsCommunication & ListeningEncourages open and honest communication with the team, communicates messages clearly and concisely and listens attentively to others.InitiativeProactively seeks new opportunities and challenges; takes ownership and accountability for enhancing results or minimizing problems.KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORSTeam performance management Service excellence for internal stakeholders Minimize maintenance down time as per company goalsConduct and issue performance reviews Conestoga Meats welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities.
