Food Service Supervisor

Job Description The Pizza Maker / Supervisor will be expected to complete the following job duties: Responsibilities -Prepare Sicilian-style pizzas, sandwiches, appetizers, and desserts to the highest quality standards -Measuring and preparing the ingredients and seasonings to be used in the cooking of dishes -Monitoring the temperature of the pizza ovens as well as cooking times. Plating or packaging food accordingly as per SOP. -Managing all food order slips and ensuring that customers’ orders are completed in a timely manner. -Managing staff and ensuring a smooth operation -Keep track of inventory and update the inventory management system as required -Labeling and stocking all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible -Maintain Prep List & Cleaning duties -Occasionally steps in to assists customers in the front (we're small, it's not a big deal) -Responsible for tracking and managing catering orders for kitchen coordination -Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible -Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc. -Undertake basic cooking duties such as preparing appetizers, pizzas, desserts, and parbaking pizza dough. -Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc. -Ensure all food and other items are stored properly -Perform other kitchen duties as assigned Requirements -Proven experience as a cook; experience in a pizza or middle eastern restaurant is an asset -Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen -Excellent communication skills; able to remain calm and adapt -Speaks positively and respectfully at all times with team and staff -Responsible - if calling in regularly is your thing, we're not a fit -Customer service mindset - there's always a solution to a problem -Able to self-manage when needed -Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils -A team player with good communication skills -Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure -Very good physical condition and endurance -High school diploma or equivalent is desirable; Training from a culinary school will be an asset Requirements: High School Diploma Smart Serve Work Permit
