In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining fermentation and purification equipment in process development laboratories. This position will assist scientists during the hands-on process development activities, critical to advancing innovative biopharmaceutical programs. Will occasionally involve supporting GMP cell banking and pilot plant work activities.Key Responsibilities:Twelve hour rotating shifts. Days and nights.Operating manual, electronic, pneumatic, or computerized laboratory process equipment with supervision according to work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure experiments are performed as designed in a non-GMP or GMP environmentCollecting, labelling, and performing testing on experimental samples aligned with work instructionsMonitoring experiments and identifying any issues. Supporting troubleshooting of the experiments with the teaEnsuring the correct labeling of reagents and instrumentation in the PD laboratoryReviewing work instructions prior to runs and assisting in writing SOP’s and data entryCleaning and organizing equipment and work area. Supporting lab organization (5S and inventory), as well as calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipmentAssisting in preparation, testing, and maintenance of cell banks, including occasional cleaning of cell banking lab in a GMP environmentAssisting the scientists and Manufacturing in supporting pilot plant operations when requiredComplying with approved safety practices for the laboratory facilityAssisting in the troubleshooting of ongoing experiments to resolve unexpected challengesQualificationsRequired:Post Secondary Education in a scientific disciplineHigh attention to detail with a focus on safety and qualityDesired:Bachelor of ScienceResearch ExperienceAseptic handling techniques, sampling, and the analysis of materials.Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) experiencePrevious relevant industry experience with microbial fermentation or protein purificationAseptic handling techniques, sampling, and the analysis of materialsExcellent written and oral communication skillsAdditional DetailsThis job has a full time weekly schedule.The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $ - $ CAD plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
