We are seeking Machinist(s) to operate CNC Horizonal Boring Mills and/or Vertical Milling Machines Key ResponsibilitiesRead and interpret blueprints and engineered drawingsSetup, program, and operation of HBMs or VMMsRun variety of machines including lathes and mills when required.Understand tool limitations and controls during operationOperate machines within tight tolerances and have a good knowledge of feeds and speedsMeasure precisely utilizing mic’s, calipers, bore gauges and hold tight tolerances.Operate travelling overhead crane up to 20 tonnes, and know rigging requirementsInspect work according to ISO and Quality Assurance standardsCapable of working unsupervised on own machine.Troubleshoot within area and on machinesPerform basic preventative maintenance on equipment.Assure compliance with appropriate safety practices and proceduresMaintain safe and clean working environment by complying with proceduresAssist with continuous improvement projects under the direction of the team leader.Complete autonomous maintenance of equipment as per daily check lists.QualificationsOur ideal candidate has over 3 years of HBM and/or VMM experience and possesses the following competencies.EducationJourneyman Machinist certificate is considered an asset, but not requiredYears experience could be measured for equivalencyCompetenciesValid Driver’s LicenseAbility to operate a crane with proper rigging techniquesExperience with medium to large millsAbility to run variety of CNC Machines and equipmentCommitment to providing outstanding serviceAttention to detail with a focus on qualityExperience in a shop environment, preferably with custom abilityReliable track record at previous employment Put your Career in GEAR todayWorking at Standard Machine, a Timken Brand, opens the door for opportunity, benefits, and security.CompensationWe offer a competitive salary to secure the brightest talent for our organization.
