Position: Millwright Journeyperson - IOL Kearl Outage Group Project Type: Plant OutagesProject Location: IOL Kearl Lake - Fort Mckay Shift: Day or Night Schedule: Straight Through Accommodations: CampTravel Details: Charter Flights/ShuttleGC: GrahamAllied Partner: Heartland Constructors Inc.Reference Number: 29998 Jardeg is recruiting Millwright Journeypersons to join the Heartland Constructors Outage Program at the Imperial Oil Kearl site in Fort MacKay, Alberta. Charter flights are provided from Calgary or Edmonton to site. While working on-site, workers will be staying at the Wapasu camp which will provide hot meals, lodging, workout facilities, Wi-Fi, commissary and much. The successful candidate would be working 11.5 hours per day, for the duration of the project until completion. Overtime shall apply for all hours worked in excess of 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week. Competitive rates, opportunities to move around the plant and working with a team with a "safety first" mindset make this role ideal This is a temporary role starting January 7th, 2026 until January 13th, 2026. Millwrights install, maintain, repair and troubleshoot stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment in sites such as factories, production plants and recreational facilities. Responsibilities:Read diagrams, schematic drawings and service manuals to determine work proceduresOperate rigging equipment and dollies to place heavy machinery and partsFit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors and connect couplings and belts to precise tolerancesAlign and test equipment and make any necessary adjustmentsPerform predictive and operational proceduresRepair or replace defective partsService and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systemsMay do some tack welding (a weld that is adequate in size to temporarily hold components in place until it can be completely welded by a registered apprentice welder or a journeyperson welder) and fabrication as well as maintain an inventory of replacement parts.
