Our continued growth is a direct result of our commitment to quality and the incredible team that makes it all possible.Job Overview: As an Autobody Technician, Apprentice at our collision repair shop, you will assist experienced autobody technicians with vehicle repair and restoration after collisions or other types of damage. This apprenticeship is an opportunity to develop the necessary skills and knowledge in automotive collision repair, working towards becoming a certified autobody technician. Under supervision, you will perform basic repair tasks, learn to use specialized tools and equipment, and gain hands-on experience in a professional shop environment. Key Responsibilities: Assist with the disassembly and reassembly of vehicles to assess damage. Support senior technicians in repairing dents, scratches, and other exterior damage using various techniques (e.g., metal straightening, dent pulling). Prepare vehicles for repair, including masking, sanding, and priming damaged areas. Learn to use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment such as MIG welders, plasma cutters, and paint sprayers. Assist in replacing damaged parts such as fenders, bumpers, panels, and doors with new or salvaged parts. Help with alignment and calibration of vehicle frames, doors, and other components. Perform basic bodywork and preparation for painting, including surface sanding and rust removal. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols. Shadow experienced technicians to learn advanced repair and refinishing techniques. Complete required technical training and coursework to advance in the apprenticeship program. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Interest in the automotive industry and a passion for hands-on mechanical work. Willingness to learn and develop technical skills. Ability to follow directions and work well in a team. Basic knowledge of automotive tools and equipment is a plus, but not required.Good manual dexterity and physical stamina; able to lift heavy parts and stand for long periods.
