AtkinsRéalis is supporting a nuclear new build small modular reactor (SMR), the first of its kind built in the western hemisphere, and due to be on the grid by the end of this decade. We are looking for a talented Nuclear Field Coordinating Manager to help deliver a positive and effective on-boarding experience for the Project. The Field Coordination department is responsible for developing the Construction Implementation Work Packages, overseeing implementation of those packages, supporting processing field change requests, and aiding the Construction organization to resolve any uncertainty with regards to design documents. This role may be known as Field Engineering or Project Coordinator in other project environments. This is a permanent position who will functionally report internally to the Project Director, New Build, and have an execution manager from the Project. Nuclear Field Coordinating Managerwill be responsible for coordinating a team of Field Coordinators for a specific bundle of scope, getting day-to-day priorities set by the Bundle leads, but functionally reporting to the Field Coordinating Director on the Project. Location - Primary work location will be between Pickering, ON office or Project site office in Oshawa, ON Alternative work locations in both the field and office. Including: Mississauga, ON; Clarington, ON Your role within the team: Provide oversight, resource leveling, and scope distribution to the assigned FCs. Provide updates and report as required to the Project Management teams. Develop and/or oversee implementation of Construction Work Packages (CWPs). Overall Material Management support, including processing non-engineered Purchase Requisitions, tracking materials on site to ensure availability to support schedule, and working with Area and Construction Leads to ensure any tools or equipment are available as needed. Works day to day with Construction Lead to ensure forward thinking implementation. Provide a level of oversight to monitor construction activities to ensure they align with project plans, specifications, and safety standards. Expected to know the codes, standards, design, and other regulations in order to make real-time decisions to keep work moving forward and document any changes to design changes that are within those allowances. Collaborate with various stakeholders, including project management, contractors, regulatory agencies, to ensure smooth project execution. Assist in scheduling construction activities, as needed. Identify and mitigate risks associate with construction activities, including safety risks, project delays or technical challenges.
