We are proud of our long-standing partnerships with family-owned Canadian chicken farmers to produce high quality products.Role:To assist the Maintenance Team in providing the plant with a high level of maintenance expertise, that ensures departmental downtime, meets Company objectives efficiently and to carry out equipment and building repairs as required, while adhering to quality, safety and legislative guidelines.Schedule - Day Shift 8am-4:30pmResponsibilities:Comply with the company safety, federal, state and local regulations, plus environmental requirementsPerforms all tasks as per recommended job methods, procedures, etc., particularly on the repair installation of production machines, bearings, seals and their alignmentMaintenance of RTU filters, belts and general maintenanceCarries out preventive maintenance tasks to Production & common areasDiagnose complex and common faults of mechanical equipment by inspecting and using appropriate tools of preventive maintenanceThrough familiarity, knowledge and uses of power and hand tools and equipment in a skillful, efficient manner, maintaining them in clean operating condition. Uses hand and power tools to build buggies, carts, airlines, castors and railsReplacement of solenoids, motors, pumps and gearboxesInspect equipment to ensure all safeguarding is in place and functional, including safety sensors, limit switches and photo-eyesElectrical knowledge to replace lamps, ballasts and familiarity with thermostats and sensorsPlans and organize all aspects of work and job assignments, in an efficient and productive wayMaintains work areas in clean and safe conditions, removing all waste on completion of work, or earlier if necessaryReports all defects, errors in production, and machines which may affect the workplace to the Maintenance Supervisor/Operations ManagerPerforms and assists in other maintenance duties as requiredWork closely with contractors and oversees activities as required. Provides resource support as requiredCompletes tasks at the request of the Maintenance Manager/Operations ManagerRequirements:Maintains prompt and courteous response to production team requests within the guidelines set forth by Sunrise Poultry, LethbridgeTrade Certification in one of the following: millwright, industrial mechanic or power engineerMust Perform Overtime, Weekend work and On-Call/Support as requiredShift Work as requiredGrade 12 educationHave 1 to 3 years related experience demonstrating mechanical aptitudeExperience in a Food Processing Plant is an assetExperience with Live Animals and proper care and handling assetBe success-driven and have a “can do” attitudeBe able to work independently, as well as being a strong team playerStrong verbal and written communication skillsHave a good safety record and work ethicFlexible and adaptable in ever-changing environmentsCMMS Experience#IND3At Sunrise Farms we are proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
