About the PositionJoin Explore Edmonton’s People & Culture team as a Talent Acquisition Advisor, where you’ll play a key role in supporting timely, consistent, and compliant recruitment across the organization.
Reporting to the Manager, Talent Acquisition & Business Partnering, this role supports two primary recruitment streams:Variable (Hourly) Positions, where you provide coordination, guidance, approvals, and employment documentation in partnership with hiring managersBudgeted (Salaried) Positions, where you lead the full end-to-end recruitment processYou’ll work closely with People Business Partners, hiring managers, and the People Operations team to ensure recruitment activities align with organizational priorities, collective agreements, and employment legislation, while delivering a positive experience for candidates and internal stakeholders alike. What You’ll DoSupport recruitment across the organization, coordinating and leading hiring for hourly, casual, part-time, unionized, and salaried rolesCoordinate high-volume and seasonal hiring initiatives, including new hires, extensions, and terminationsPartner with hiring managers to clarify recruitment needs, role requirements, and selection criteriaDevelop and execute recruitment plans that align with organizational priorities, collective agreements, and employment legislationLead full-cycle recruitment for budgeted (salaried) positions, including job postings, screening, interview coordination, selection support, and offersSupport recruitment for variable (hourly) roles by coordinating approvals, postings, interviews, and employment documentationDraft and issue employment agreements, change letters, and termination documentation in line with internal policies and collective agreementsPrepare salary recommendations, support negotiations, and extend offers in collaboration with People Business PartnersCoordinate pre-employment and security checks to ensure timely and compliant hiringLead New Employee Orientation and support onboarding activities to set new hires up for successCoordinate and administer recruitment programs such as the Canada Summer Jobs Grant, including advising managers on requirements and timelinesEnsure all recruitment activities meet funding, legislative, policy, and collective agreement requirementsMaintain accurate recruitment records, trackers, and documentation to support reporting and audit needsMonitor recruitment timelines, identify risks or delays, and escalate issues as neededIdentify opportunities to improve recruitment processes, tools, templates, and the overall candidate experienceStay current on recruitment best practices and employment legislation, and contribute to recruitment-related projects and process improvementsWhat You Will BringPost-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field3–5 years of experience in talent acquisition or recruitment-related rolesExperience supporting unionized, hourly, or seasonal recruitment is an assetCPHR designation, or working toward one, is considered an assetStrong understanding of employment legislation and collective agreementsAbility to manage multiple recruitment streams and competing prioritiesExcellent organization, coordination, and documentation skillsStrong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to advise hiring managersHigh level of professionalism, discretion, and sound judgementProficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and comfort learning ATS and HR systems
