Customer Service Representative/Counter Sales

Job DescriptionAs a teammate at the West Kelowna Profit Centre, you will provide sales support to customers via telephone, email, and walk-ins to our Profit Centres. You will provide the highest level of customer service by answering customer inquiries, generating sales leads, and closing sales to increase profit sharing. Support will also be provided to other Profit Centre Teammates. .Additional duties will include:Assist customers who purchase material at the Profit Centre countersAnswer telephone calls, emails and in person questions from customers and identify their needsResearch product for customers and provide recommendations on our assortment of productEnter sales orders generated from Profit Centre customers via fax, phone, emails, and textsDrive sales growth through ownership of counter merchandising, product promotion, and generate leads for the Outside Account Manager while networking with customers at the counterEnter, pick, and pack sales orders generated at the counterMaintain and clean the counter area including any merchandising displaysGrow and retain established customer base and develop new business for the Profit CentreFollow up on backorders with vendors and provide customers accurate delivery datesSend and follow-up with request for quotes to vendorsProcess returns and warranty claims to customers both on account and cash sales including paperwork in compliance with all proceduresSupport all teammate activities as part of the teamResolve issues related to customer orders in accordance with our policies and procedures (SPIs)Perform other tasks as requested by the Profit Centre ManagerQualificationsGrade 12 diploma or equivalent; College and/or University degree an assetA minimum of 1 year of experience with customer service or counter salesProficient in the use of Microsoft Office software to communicate via email, analyze customer data and update customer contact filesOutstanding customer service and verbal communication skillsExcellent relationship building skills with customers, vendors, and teammatesAbility to identify customer needs, provide profitable solutions and close the saleAbility to learn and operate the applicable software system used to process ordersAble to work in a fast-paced environment while handling multiple tasksIntermediate math skillsAble to learn how to operate material handling equipmentPreferred Skills:Previous experience with or knowledge of products sold at the Profit CentreExperience using Trend, Eclipse, Word, Excel, and OutlookAdditional InformationSalary Range - $23.00/hr - $25.00/hr plus benefits and profit-sharing potentialEMCO is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to maintaining a discrimination, harassment, and barrier free workplace where all employees can contribute to their fullest potential.
