SAIT Recreation's programs and facilities are designed to support active and healthy lifestyles for our students, staff, alumni and members of the public.The OpportunityThe Athletics and Recreation department is looking for Sprint Coaches for the Trojans Running Team. Working closely with the coaching staff, this position plays an integral role in Trojans success. Position Summary: • Training & Event support/leadership as required• Weekends and evening work expectations over the course of a season• Travel demands considered part of the Coaching Staff portfolio• Off court/ice/pitch/race duties considered part of the Coaching portfolio• Positions range from 5-30 hours per week of billable webtime entryThe RoleKey responsibilities and major duties include, but are not limited to:Program Management SupportSupport Head Coach with administrative, logistical, financial & personnel requirements for the programAssist with all team related activities along with support from Trojans admin & assigned sport coordinator CoachingCreate an environment that is aligned with SAIT FIRST principles and fosters holistic growth of student athletes & staffCreate a culture of excellence that motivates athletes & staff to strive for their best in all aspects of being a part of Trojans programmingConduct effective practices & training sessions that allow student-athletes to improve, while providing enough time for academics & generalized success as a student-athlete Work directly with Head Athletic Therapist to ensure YTP is conducive to injury prevention & peak health throughout the season Administration Adhere to all Trojans & league requirements regarding athlete onboarding each season (Transfers, LOIs, Nominations, Required training/education sessions etc.)Adhere to SAIT policies, procedures and protocols including p-card purchasing, webtime entry, mandatory SafeSport training facility access controls, ID card presentations, brand alignment and respectful workplace related expectationsTeam scheduling, planning and structuring including communicationsSubmit required documentation in a timely fashionSubmit compliance related formalities in a progressive fashionEDI, Safesport & SAIT Engagement Support and promote SAIT & Trojans initiatives not directly tied to athletic pursuits Advancement of a #wearetrojans mentalityQualifications & ExperienceMinimum of High School Diploma is required; a Degree or Diploma in a related program is an asset NCCP Registration and pursuit of sport specific training are requiredNCCP Entry Level sport specific training is preferredSkills RequiredEnthusiastic, passion for sport-minded individuals with a focus on student-athlete development individuals Ability to work within a team and communicate accordinglyProvide exceptional customer service with strong inter-personal skillsAbility to work with minimal supervisionActive participant in problem solvingCapable of multi-tasking and managing multiple prioritiesHigh degree of attention to detailWork with a fast-paced environmentGreat with time managementProgressive leader with sustainability centric competenciesFinancial management and computer skillsJob classification: A9000 - Pooled Wage PositionHourly rate: $# of positions: 2Hours Per Week: 5-30 hoursPosition End Date: March 31, 2026Posting closing date: Until position is filledAbout SAITSAIT is a global leader in applied education.
