Our Distribution team is currently seeking Powerline Technicians (PLT) Supervisors to support our crews across Ontario. Reporting to the Construction Manager, this position plays a critical role in maintaining the safety, reliability, and resiliency of electrical distribution systems. Please Note: We have multiple positions available across Ontario. Duties and ResponsibilitiesBe the main point of contact for the Project / Construction Manager and subcontractors Lead on-site crews while ensuring project construction activities are executed in compliance with project drawings, specifications, schedules, budget, safety and quality requirements and standardsErect and maintain wood or concrete poles, and guy wiresInstall, maintain and repair overhead and underground power lines and cables, insulators, conductors, lightning arrestors, switches, transformers, street lighting and other associated equipmentInstruct, mentor and train junior personnel and Apprentices in duties, safe work practices, care and use of tools and equipment in a positive respectful mannerHave knowledge and expertise in the areas of construction, maintenance, and repair distribution power systems, coupled with the ability to follow instructions and proceduresConduct switching operations and isolation procedures in accordance with established safety and operational standards and install grounding devices to lines and equipmentMaintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent using field management systems or work order toolsEnsure compliance with all safety procedures, company standards, and applicable regulations (e.g., OH&S, CSA, IEEE)RequirementsJourneyperson Powerline Technician (PLT) certification7 years of electrical distribution experienceDemonstrated leadership experienceClass DZ Drivers licensePreferred Skills / QualificationsClass 4 Rubber Glove experienceAZ Drivers licensePrevious experience with Toronto Hydro distribution networkCurrent Utility Worker Protection Code (UWPC) TrainingStandard First Aid (CPR/AED) BenefitsWe offer a comprehensive and competitive total rewards package that incorporates a complete range of employee benefits, including an RRSP matching program, to ensure you have the tools necessary to manage, maintain, and improve your health and wellbeing.
