Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAECOM Buildings + Places sector is seeking a Structural Engineer for immediate employment for the Kitchener or Mississauga, ON office with opportunities for hybrid work. This position is for a newly created position.You will be working with our team of senior engineers, EIT's, technologists, BIM/CAD designers and project managers who focus on delivering high quality and challenging structural design projects within the industrial, commercial, institutional, and municipal sectors.You will also have the opportunity to work collaboratively with other disciplines such as architects, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and civil engineers on larger projects. Major Responsibilities:Independently perform structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, wood, and masonry structures in accordance with relevant codes and standardsPrepare technical specifications and contribute to project documentationPrepare structural analysis and calculation reportsCoordinate with other engineering disciplines, project managers, and clients to ensure efficient project executionConduct site visits, inspections, and structural assessments to evaluate structure’s conditions and provide conclusions and recommendationsEnsure project deliverables meet quality, budget, and schedule expectations with little supervisionProvide technical or operational guidance to less experienced engineers, EIT’s and techniciansStay updated on industry codes, regulations, and best practices to ensure high-quality design solutionsQualificationsMinimum Requirements: In order to be considered for this position, candidates must possess, at a very minimum: Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering + four (4) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency in structural engineering design and analysisRegistered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario or other provinces in good standingGood written and verbal communication skills (English proficiency essential)Ability to recognize and adhere to established deadlines and schedules is a mustAbility to fit into a fast-paced team environment and/or work independentlySelf-motivated, detail oriented and multi-taskingPreferred Requirements: Professional Engineer (P.E.) designation in any state of USA is an asset8+ years of Experience in structural design of industrial plants, commercial buildings, government facilities, municipal infrastructures, and transit stationsProficiency in structural analysis software including ETABS, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, SAFE, RISA 3D, and CAD/BIM tools (e.g., Revit and AutoCAD)Strong understanding of current building codes and design standards (e.g., NBC, OBC, CSA S16, CSA A23.1, CSA A23.3, CSA S304, CSA O86, AISC 360, ACI 318, etc.)Secret-level security clearance or eligibility with the Canadian governmentAdditional InformationRelocation is not available for this positionSponsorship is not available for this positionAbout AECOM AECOM is proud to offer comprehensive benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
