Although our work is driven by specific objectives, goals and defined boundaries, we execute our work under wide guidelines.Mechanical Engineering at L3HARRIS WESCAM requires the application of advanced engineering experiences requiring specialized knowledge for decidedly complex engineering assignments. This is by no accident – our Mechanical Engineers and Computer-Aided Engineers (CAE) are some of the best in the industry and are directly responsible for our success.Primary Responsibilities Responsible for mechanical design and analysis of complex opto-mechanical and electromechanical products from concept through to production using modern CAD and analysis tools. Assigned projects will be of an advanced nature and will involve solving difficult technical problems.Perform innovation and/or suggest ways to improve our systems and/or reduce costCarries out complex and difficult engineering assignments requiring specialized engineering knowledge. Requires application of advanced engineering knowledge. Assigned projects and problems make it often necessary to modify established methods and devise new approaches. Is relied upon to complete difficult projects in a timely manner. A major technical contributor or lead to the completion of project goals and objectives. Contributes to the definition of departmental best practices and design approaches. Work is assigned in terms of specific objectives and goals with defined boundaries. Work is carried out within wide guidelines. Technical guidance and review is available as required. Often gives technical or project related guidance and direction to other staff. May act as a lead on larger projects. May provide guidance or mentor staff on complex design practices and development methods.
